From sailing secretary Matt Fowler…. a quick overview of whats going on this Sunday;
The new Race Control Box is completely functional and is ready for anyone who wants to learn how it works to come along for a run through. This is also perfect for anyone who hasn’t got a lot of experience and is a tad nervous about doing OOD as this solution is really simple compared to our old system
There will also be Guidance on Setting courses/ Use of flags/Top tips for how to run a race
Whether you’re making upgrades to your boat or its in need of a little love or maintenance from re-riveting loose parts, renewing blocks/pulleys to minor gel coat/glass work. Just pitch up on the grass and there will be plenty of hands available with a vast range of tools and experience to help get your boat in tiptop shape
Safety boat duty is a crucial role for any club race. Whether its knowing how to safely deal with close quarter manoeuvring/Injured crews/laying a course and liaising with the OOD to setting up the Ribs to be able to get the racing away in a timely manner
There will be a brilliant group of people there this weekend if you wish to come along and top up your skills with their vast experience.
